17. Please describe your center's outreach strategy and how can you reach communities lacking broadband access. :
CMAP will promote the BMAP project in the Hollister and San Juan Bautista communities to recruit new CMAP members, attract non-profit organizations, youth and residents to the media production and training program and fee-based
services. CMAP will use newspaper columns, advertisements, community events, newsletters, and email lists to promote the programs.
19. How will you measure the program's impact in reaching disconnected communities and increase broadband adoption?:
Measurement will include intake surveys for each training, and evaluations at the end of each training program in regard to both skills, broadband interest/use, and how the participants heard about the BMAP program.
20. Please describe your primary training and educational programs, including curricula, student certification programs, etc.:
Examples of classes offered: media production, camera, screenwriting, digital storytelling, lighting, narration, citizen journalism, claymation, community documentation, Internet applications for non-profits, paypal and online fundraising, social networking, video content online, web development, online marketing, and video blogging. Media and computer training programs would focus on non-profits, youth, low-income residents, and minorities, as extension of CMAP’s media and technology classes currently offered in Gilroy but not yet in Hollister.
